Do you remember the feeling of delight? The feeling of complete security and trust mixed with an electric joy that goes all the way through you, rushing out of your mouth in a piercing laugh/scream? Many experienced this as children. For me, it was being tossed in the air or chased by my dad. For others, it was that moment of weightlessness on a swing or the plunging of a rollercoaster. As adults, most of us have lost the feeling of delight, and definitely wouldn’t associate it with God. But what if childlike delight is worship in its most pure form – What if it’s about knowing who you are (a son or daughter of the King, thus the tiara), knowing who your Father is (the LORD, the King and Creator), and trusting Him completely as He swings you through this crazy ride called life?
Close your eyes and try to remember that feeling. Now, imagine the ups and downs of your life are God swinging you. Can you trust Him? Can you remember that He cares and is present even when you feel yourself falling? Can you remember to let go, trust Him, and enjoy the ride?
