Do you see the sound waves in this painting? The gentle ones depict the voice of God. The sharp, loud ones on the curtains depict the voices of this world. Our world is filled with noise and distraction. Amid this chaos God is calling out to us, asking us to hear His words, His voice. It is a challenge to separate His from the many other sounds, the voices of people, work, distraction, anxiety, entertainment, etc. Let us take time to intentionally push aside the curtains of distraction, creating a space of stillness where the Lord's voice may be clearly heard and understood. ‘My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.’ (John 10:27). Be still and listen.
