This painting was inspired by a friend's dream. In this dream she saw herself standing under an umbrella, but the rain was inside the umbrella. It was the Holy Spirit. As I meditated on this beautiful image I thought about the cleansing, lifegiving significance of water. We are guaranteed deserts in this life. So much of our world, our society is focused on the pursuit of comfort, but what if life is not so much about avoiding the deserts as it is about Who accompanies you us through them? Despite the deserts, May you continue to walk forward under the covering of God, washed and refreshed with His life-giving Spirit. A trail of life will follow behind where the water of life has been.
